Our Sizing Guide
Things to Consider When Choosing Lighting
- How much natural light does this space get? If not much, you might want to consider a light fixture with more than one light bulb and/or choose light bulbs with higher wattage. I typically choose a 60 watt light bulb for nice soft white light that’s both functional and nice to look at.
- What is the function of this space? If you are choosing lighting for a space like your kitchen or bathroom where you will want a well-lit space to chop veggies or put on makeup, you might opt for more bulbs than just one.
- How should I incorporate a light fixture that doesn’t match my cabinet hardware or plumbing? Let me start by saying I LOVE a mixed metal look! But it is tricky. I think one way to play it safe when mixing metals is to match at least two things. My favorite combo in a bathroom or kitchen is matching your lighting finish color to your cabinet hardware and then let all the plumbing, bath hardware, and mirrors match. I think that gives a space the most put together and curated look.
