Best Margarita Recipe Ever

Hi friends! This winter when I went to Vail(read my trip recap here) to visit my friend I had the BEST margarita of my life. I have been craving margs ever since! Of all places in the world Vail would be the last place I think of when I think of tequila but I am telling you, this recipe is sooooo good! I managed to get the recipe from a friend of mine who is a bartender at that restaurant where I fell in love with agave tequila and I am sharing it below! I just made them for all my friends at the beach and it was a big hit to say the least. Super easy, pretty healthy, and sooooo delicious! You can also shop my dress, glasses, and other goodies below! I hope you enjoy!

yield1 MARGARITA (CAN EASILY BE MULTIPLIED)
total time:
5 MINS
This margarita recipe is soooo yummy! Made with just fresh lime juice, tequila, Cointreau, and Grand Marnier

Ingredients

FOR ONE MARGARITA:

  • Kosher salt — & lime wedge, to rim the glass
  •  2 ounces silver tequila — about 3 tablespoons
  • 3/4 oz freshly squeezed lime juice — I use bottled Santa Cruz organic lime juice if I am in a hurry
  • 1 oz Cointreau
  • Top w/ 1/2 oz Grand Marnier
  •  Ice

Instructions

  1. Rim the glass: I just buy the Jose Cuervo salt but if you don’t have that just pour a thin layer of salt onto a small plate.  Rub a lime wedge around the top edge of your glass to moisten it, then dip the glass into the salt so that it sticks, tapping all the way around. Fill the glass with ice and set aside.
  2. For one (or two) drinks: fill a small cocktail shaker with additional ice. Add the tequila, lime juice, & Cointreau.  Tightly close and shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds (it’s longer than you think). Strain into the rimmed glass over the ice. Add Grand Marnier and enjoy!
  3. For a pitcher: Multiple recipe. In the bottom of a pitcher, stir together the tequila, lime juice, & Cointreau. (do not add ice to the pitcher). Serve immediately (prepare the glasses as in Step 1) or place a sheet of plastic wrap over the top of the pitcher and refrigerate for up to 4 hours.
